1970s

Robert R. Janes, PhD’76, an independent scholar, author and former editor-in-chief of the Journal of Museum Management and Curatorship, has published a new book called Museums without Borders. Drawing from 40 years of extensive experience in the museum world, Janes explores the role of museums and their need to evolve to meet today’s environmental, ethical and societal challenges. The recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Award in 1989 began his career as an archaeologist in the Northwest Territories and continues to work with Canada’s indigenous people.

Al Onia, BSc’72, science fiction writer, is releasing his second novel, Transient City in May from Bundoran Press. The geophysicist was an Aurora Award finalist twice in the short fiction category.
